Hi
I'm Rishikanth Chandrasekaran I work as an Applied Researcher at eBay in Seattle, where I design and develop machine learning models for fraud detection. I’m passionate about computer science, technology, and building tools that make a real-world impact. I’m also a strong advocate for open-source and privacy-preserving software.
When I’m not busy tackling fraud, you’ll usually find me tinkering with self-hosting projects. Over the past few years, I’ve been running my own alternatives to popular cloud services—like streaming platforms, Google Drive, and photo storage—as a way to reduce reliance on third-party providers. Alongside that, I enjoy building in the open: sharing my process, lessons learned, and code as I go. I maintain several open-source projects, many of which started as personal tools that I later released to the community. Building in public not only keeps me accountable, but also invites collaboration and feedback that make the work stronger.
Away from my laptop, I enjoy playing tennis, building with Lego, and collecting vinyl records. I started this blog as a space to learn out loud, explore new research directions, and document ideas in the open. If you’re interested in collaborating—or even publishing together—feel free to reach out.
